Default Cheap double din satnav systems from China

Has anyone on here every seen or purchased on of these WinCE based double din satnav/dvd head units from china?

I've been looking at one on ebay and bar the UI it looks pretty good!

2-din multimedia with DVD TV USB FM Bluetooth GPS divX on eBay, also DVD VCD Players, DVD Players Monitors, In-Car Entertainment GPS, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 13-Jan-08 10:29:25 GMT)

fashionmadeinchina

They come with Route66 or TomTom software.. I'd love to hear from anyone who has used a unit like this?

Cant see why it wouldnt work if it ran on tom tom software, only thing Id remind you off is the FM frequecy is different to that of the UK so you'll need a convertor, only a small issue but one to think off all the same

Funny thing is though, I've read most of these units are basically OEM and big boys buy them and 're-brand' them... The only real difference (apparently) is the UI..

But as they are un-branded its hard to find any details or reviews on these sort of units

The warranty section of the website doesn't work and if that's a decent rebranded unit I'll eat your intercooler.

Sorry, but I find this bloody funny.

"Davey, why were you late to the meeting?"

"Sorry boss, satnav problems."

"Surely you should have been quicker using it?"

"Well, first I thought I'd program it but I don't understand the symbols, then the directions were a bit weird - I mean, is "ni shi ying tong poo" turn left, turn right, or straight on?... but hey, it was a real bargain!"

Are they? I'd always been under the impression they were Japanese.

In any case they have warranties that actually mean something.

Japaense but I bet they are built in china along with everything else in this world

True there is the issue of warrenty.. But its more of a toy for me.. I'm a windows mobile developer and as its based on WinCE I'm actually interested in writing my own GUI for it if its any good

Don't know, someone at work has an Ipod Nano chinese copy that works perfectly well and sounds just as good as the official one.
Only problem I can see is if it were to go wrong, i'd guess you'll be out of pocket if it dies.

The increments are different to ours though. My headunit is Japanese and I get Radio One on 88.8, usually 98.8.
