Just got the better of two traffic monkeys
Parked in town, in a P&D space - without paying, popping into bank takes 2-3 mins at that time of day, was not going to pay 80p to park, principal more than the amount. No free parking anywhere in Northampton town centre or surrounding.
walking back to the car and I see two traffic monkey's examining my car, getting their e-pads out (Why does it take two of them, what a waste of time and resources) anyway, i walk over to the car.
Monkey 1 asks "is this your car?"
Me "no" It is Jenny's car so I am as truthful as I feel is needed.
i proceed to get into the car.
Monkey 2 using his great wisdom and hours of training says "this is a pay and display space"
I replied, "Great stuff, what a good idea, I am sure it will catch on!"
This confused both Monkeys and amused the three people who had stopped to watch and where now laughing at the Monkeys.
I got in the car, and drove off (without a ticket) my work done

I work in Wellingborough now where there's so much free parking it's unbelievable! It's great. Don't ever want to work in Northampton town centre again, it's the pits...

too right - the pay and display system is stupid. It makes no allowance for people popping into the bank for 2 mins during the day...until they can introduce some flexibility to allow for the selfish among us to avoid forking out an extortionate 80p we should continue to get the better of those employed to enforce it by errr......jumping in are cars and driving off to tell the world on an Internet forum that we avoided 80 pence. Yep...that'll teach 'em.
