Wages Query
My wife has just realized that she has been payed statutory sick pay for the last 5 months, even though she has been working.
She was off sick for 2 days back in July, but the ward manager (she's a nurse) forgot to sign her as back at work.
As she works shifts her payslip is very complicated and her wage can vary quite a bit over any given month.
It works out that she's been payed about £300 too much for 5 months.
What are her rights in regards to paying it back?
She's payed tax and pension against this extra money, will this be refunded?
As she's payed tax on the extra money, if they take back £300 per month, will she be any worse off?

She will have to pay it back, as lets face it... it wasn't ever hers in the first place. Her HR department/payroll will make the necessary adjustments for tax paid etc...
