Default Recycling Christmas trees

Cracked me up on the news at lunchtime - the crappy big tree that the people of Norway send us for Trafalgar Square was being pulled down and recycled and the mayor says we should all follow his lead.

So several petrol chainsaws and a huge petrol chipper later, job done.

Could have got a squad of immigrants to do it for less and a lower carbon footprint as well..

If you live in and around Brighton, the council provides chippers all over the place to shred trees which has always struck me as a good idea Not that I'm often in agreement with Ken. Not sure that I would describe it as a 'crappy big tree' either given the reasons behind why it is donated....

I chainsawed our seven footer into its component parts this afternoon and burnt it in my old oil drum, a proper blokey way of disposal.

Christmas trees when they burn make chip pan fires look like a poofs handbag going up !

I like the sentiment behind it but did you see it?

We went out our way to see it and what a let down, scrawny piece of kindling.

Why did Red Ken have it taken down before the 6th then? And were people allowed into Trafalgar square to actually look at it?
