I am interested in doing a rally course, but dont want to do one if they are limited to half revs etc, (I did a formula ford one years ago and it was 4000 rpm max!!)
Any one recomend one??

I did one about tens years ago now - in a peugot 309 rally car at Silverstone- it was Ok but lots of time spent hanging arounf for about 20 mins total of driving time.
If I was doing one again I would deffo ask how much driving time you get.

I can also recommend Bill Gwynne rally school, it was a while ago when i did one and it was when Bill Gwynne used to be based at Saltburn and the day was fantastic from start to finish and you get plenty of time in the cars.
The highlight of the day was when the instructor takes you for a high speed run around the rally course at the end of the day, you think your good yourself but its nothing compared to the skill of the professionals.

I did this, Forest Experience Rally School Wales, Rally Driving Days Wales
I had David Higgins (former BRC Champion) instructing me in a mkII Escort, it was awesome! They use a proper stage in a proper forest, in fact some of the works teams use it for testing WRC cars. It's a really good day out and I'd say it has the edge over driving round tyres at Bill Gwynnes
Oh yeah, you can also have B+B at David and Mark's mum and dad's house

I've done Bill Gwynne rally school, Rally Scool Ireland & Shropshire Rally School...
The Irish one was by far the best....by a very long chalk. It may have been costly..but when roled up into a weekend in Dublin it was well worthwhile.
lots of time in the Impreza too

I have to say, my day at Rally School Ireland was superb. A totally professional outfit who not only looked after you for the entire day, they also made sure you were making the maximum use out of the car's driven.
My day consisted of the Mk11 Escort & the Group N Scoob..it was mega fun...

I did the knockhill one, and they definitely let me take the car to it's limits (Sierra). Full on sideways action down the stage !! I ripped the front wing off clipping the barrier through a chicane. they just stuck a couple of screws in it and carried on
Someone had rolled one the day before !

The Silverstone one I did was in a 306 - about 10 years ago.
Was a good day out, then got taken around by the pro-driver in the Escort. We were chatting (whilst sideways) - turns out he'd taken one the members of a pop group I was working with around a few weeks earlier...... so we went around again!!

I did that one, thought it was toilet, TBH, not very much driving time. The only highlight of the day was the blast round in the escort, and one of the other bods on the driving day was a Napoleon dynamite lookalike, that insisted on pulling on his stringback driving gloves with great pomp and ceremony everytime he got in the car... Which was twice, that's all you got .

Yeh, they reckoned that the cars were 306 GTi6s..... strange. Didn't sound like a GTi6, plus I could SWEAR that GTi6s don't have a glowplug light on startup
Still, it was a nice day out, and was a present, so I can't complain
