wasting your time with that lot mate, if you've got similar to what's fcuked up my christmas (and seems hell bent on wiping out new years aswell) then get down the doctors.

i spent xmas morning at A&E as my ear started bleeding, then to the quacks yesterday as i was coughing a bit of blood. so far got ear infection, chest infection and something with one of my lungs that might need an xray if i don't get better

moan over

still, got nowhere to go and series 2+3 of Lost to watch

You poor lot. Always happens at this time of year. I've had a mild form of cold which has only appeared at night from about 10pm, then I can't sleep properly as I have mucus in my throat...
Get well soon everyone!

Nick

PS - I used to mix a bit of Whiskey with cold powder before bed which seemed to help me sleep better.

get yourself to the doctors and ask for amoxicillin.
I've been floored with flu/chest infection since christmas eve. Coughing up blood, shivers, muddled thoughts, the lot, but 24 hours since i've taken this stuff and I'm approaching human again.

Side effects are not good,The onset of an allergic reaction to amoxicillin can be very sudden and intense - emergency medical attention must be sought as quickly as possible. The initial onset of such a reaction often starts with a change in mental state; skin rash with intense itching (often beginning in fingertips and around groin area and rapidly spreading) and sensations of fever, nausea and vomiting. Any other symptoms that seem even remotely suspicious must be taken very seriously.

For those that don't know it lasts 3-4 days bad, then maybe another 3-4 days off for a lazy recovery without aching joints, headaches and dizzy spells. If you're public sector then you won't be back before Feb

Back at work 5am this morning.

Some of the symptoms above sound familiar to what has ruined by xmas!

Picked it up on xmas eve and spent xmas day in a semi-fever before the mrs and baby got it on boxing day! Pretty contagious at that as everyone we have come into contact with is now going throw the same thing!

This all sounds much like the evil that has had recently had me out of action. I rarely go on the sick, but this recent attack forced me to take a couple of days off. I've never been this ill in years, could barely move, shivering one minute, almost on fire the next, and to top it all I thought I only had flu/cold, but turned out I had bronchitis and an ear infection just to top it off.

Still not right yet, little appetite and still feeling a little worse for wear, but miles better than I was. I feel awful that I've passed it onto the other half.

But it has been proven that women only get a measly dose of the active germs that cause 'man cold'

Im sure i read that somewhere

Of course, women never get it as bad as our men out there, that's because we're clearly harder than you.

Except me obviously.
