Did something similar, but a slight blonde moment

Went to M&S for a bit of posh xmas food shopping
Spent a bloody fortune, came back home, put the stuff away.
Just checked this morning before going to get another load of last minute food shopping and no chicken, or pudding, or some other bits !!!
Checked the receipt and yup, paid for it
realised I must have left a whole bag at the till
Phoned them up and they were nice as pie, popped back there and they filled up a bag for all the missing stuff for free...which was nice of them

DOH !!! that was close

and now have just come back from yet another food shop and dear god, £250 lighter

I remember one christmas our oven packed in whilst cooking the turkey.

Luckily, we had a large(ish) Sharp combination mircowave oven, and we <just> about managed to cram it in.

When the realtives arrived, they were quite alarmed at seeing a whole turkey spinning round inside the micorwave oven (on oven mode). Thinking we were mircowaving it

I remember when I was a kid, my parents kitting pissed in the local and leaving the turkey there as we went home, strangely enough it was gone when they went back to look for it.
To this day still makes me laugh

2 hrs to cook? That's not a turkey - it's a sparrow!

My mother had one as a pet.. very loyal apparently...

We still eat one every christmas day and its great!

I still don't understand people who buy frozen turkeys for christmas day Go to your local butchers and get a fresh Norfolk Black, it's so much better.

Got back from the butchers a couple of hours ago with Terry the Turkey in his box. There's ony 2 of us but if its too small then it's all bone and no meat. Stock to be made for soups/risottos on Boxing Day and the rest of the meat frozen for scoffing throughout the year. Never managed to over or undercook a turkey.........................yet!
