Default Window companies/not turning up/compo

had a window company in gloucester booked for about 6 weeks with a date to install, cool.

On the day of install, missus took day off work and waited in.

and waited in

and waited in

10:30 on the day a phone call, not bein done today, one of the installers broke his leg on the weekend,oh,right, bit peed off so say,i`ll be knocking off the days money i lost from work (contractor) guy says o.k

following week, windows installed, gave them cheque minus the 96 pound for the days lost money, cool.

1 week later a letter, saying we owe 96 pound and can we pay it, i call them up,explain, even tho she already knew, and she said she`ll ee what we can do

1 week later again, another letter, sayin in the contract is says no compo for such events.

hmm,why wasnt i told this on the day or on the several phone calls i made etc,im yet to read the 38 clauses in the contract.

if it is in there,i guess i have to pay it.

if its not, where do i stand ?

before install everyone at the company said yep,96 pound off no probs,it was our fault u lost out etc etc, couldnt be more co-operative.

now,they want it

hmmm

cheers

Write back and tell them you have a verbal contract with them saying you can have a rebate of £96. Then just ignore any other letters.

When it was agreed that you could deduct the 96 quid i take it it was not in writing?

having said that i'd tell them to p*** off anyway.

Without sounding harsh it is not your problem if he broke his leg or not

Better idea!!!!!

Tell them to stick it and if they dont like it - take the feckin windows back, however if there is any damage whatsover i.e. torn wallpaper you'll sue them for criminal damage
