Something happened the other day
sold my rover 25 run around, guy turned up with a broken leg,his wife, and a friend, saw the car their friend said she had to get back quickly as she had an appointment, so 30 seconds later he said looks like i have to buy it(without test drive/looking at documents!!!),paid the cash,we shook hands and i walked back to my house.(car was in a communal parking bit).when i got to my front door i heard an almighty crash, turned around to see his wife had reversed the car straight into a lamp post and knocked out the rear windscreen, dented the bumper, broke light at back.I started to walk back to them(dont know what i was going to do for them),but they just sped off!probably out of embarrassment.i felt gutted for them, the car was in excellent condition 3minutes earlier.but a part of me found it funny trying to think what was their conversation like on their way home.

he did say he got insurance the day before, but not comprehensive cover, the car was for the wife as "they needed a reliable car as she is a community nurse".Took me ages to clear up all the glass thou it was everywhere.

funny thing is that my partner was getting worried that they were going to bring the car back to us and complain about the damage ??????had to explain they handed cash over, car WAS in good nick, fact that it isnt now,is not our problem.bless her she is fairly intelligent but gets into a flap at the smallest things(have been told by her that it is natural to flap as she is pregnant, she uses that excuse every time she goes off on one, when her hormones go off the scale!)

Made you chuckle??? - I bluddy roared with larfter!! Stonking tale.
When I was in the motor trade, my sales manager dented a brand new car he had sold - huge dent all along the front passenger door sill. So he parked it with the nearside tight up against a wall, did the handover and waved the new owner off.
It was two days before he came back and said "I just don't know what I hit, but I have dented the car. Can you repair it please?"
Oh! How we larfed at THAT one!!
