Not one person I know receives all the digital free view channels and they expect the country to switch over soon.

I get BBC3 and Sky News 99% of the time but the rest of the channels are hit and miss.

The strength of the digital signal will be increased greatly after the analogue transmissions cease: currently it would interfere with the analogue signal. This doesnt seem to be widely known though; perhaps people would be more positive if they knew. Aerial quality is important too.

This is annoys me too. Imagine when they turn the analogue off! And yes they are supposed to be upping the digi strength but then again aparantly NOT in the very south east as it'll interfere with France (according to an epxert on radio kent a while back)

So where does that leave me when analogue goes? oh yes with about 2 digital channels.

I can't wait for the day they do it with radio too, that is the biggest joke. I've got a digital radio at home.. crap. What about whe in the car listening to something interesting on analogue and you stray from reception.. slight hiss crackle but still there. With digital?? prob nothing at all

And fwiw I bought and installed a huge digi aerial and still no joy!

The crap format the UK chose to use for digital radio means the sound quality of digital is generally worse than a decent existing FM signal

i have a crap portable tv at work with an Ariel on top of it, plugged into a £16 asda freeview box and i get them all

My shiny new Philips 32" LCD in the bedroom has a 20yo set-top jobby and we get everything too Just need to sort a proper rooftop job for the living room TV as our house has never had an aeriel on it

Brand new Ariel and double screened co ax and the box still does not work and the channels that do freeze half the time
