Question Anyone('s partner) got a steam generator iron?

Our iron's kaput. Thinking of getting a steam generator one, ie separate boiler unit.

Anyone got one, are they worth it? Or a gross overhype?

I view it as a horrible chore (for someone else to do ) and anything that eases it should be welcomed.

Ta muchly

Steam press is by far the best option, my mother who has a small olympia swears by it.

The boss has one, says it's great for doing big ironing sessions but takes too long to get going if just doing one thing quickly so we ended up having a cheapo standard steam iron too. HTH.

Mrs D has one, neighbours recently borrowed it and then went and bought their own. Go to John Lewis and they'll also wrap it for you

Got one too and wouldn't go back to a standard one (unless as has already been said it's for one item)

Her indoors has a Polti one. She says it is brilliant.

(BTW - She sends the ironing out to a company who comes and picks it up and brings it back nice and flat the next day. I think you must have to have a Polti to do this)
