Well after a grand total of 15 days off this year, mainly for Dentists, building work and the kids school type commitments its time for a couple of weeks of doing **** all, finish my contract 21/12 and start back as a permanent member of staff on 07/01/2008, oh well contracting was nice whilst it lasted !
Will be itching to go back after three days of the kids.

people will notice a pattern emerging here.
those in i.t. sort of jobs get nice long breaks over xmas, bonuses etc, while the less intelligent like me, get to work over xmas in (my example) a crappy warehouse so we can deliver to shops that open for 15 minutes on xmas day.
oh the joy
p.s. thats not jealousy (ok just a little) but more of an observation.

Yep you're right! Can't even come in between Christmas and New Year if I wanted to as they close our place down
Finish Friday 21st , back in on the 2nd
No fat bonus though, company is too stingy for that, expect we'll get the usual £25 in Sainsburys vouchers

Why off so long?
I am already off at the moment, combo of annual leave, Paternity leave etc. Have left my job, so apart from a little appearance at the company Xmas do etc and some final tidying up at my desk, I do not start the new job until 2nd January.
Would like to booze, but wary of imminent arrival of baby and so on, maybe after?

I,m neither in I.T or work 9-5
40 hour week on a 5-4 pattern, although we invariably work the second (off) friday, its these banked hours that have covered the break in January
