The reading performance of children in England has fallen from third to 19th in the world in a major assessment.



Education ministers have repeatedly held up England's high performance in 2001 as being a credit to the country's education system.

After seeing the 2006 results the Children, Schools and Families Secretary, Ed *****, said parents must do more.

To be fair, the way reading etc is taught in schools hasnt changed. So what has? Life at home has, I should imagine alot of it is to do with the scumthat walks our streets nowadays. These are the people who were actually brought up under the Tories, not that I think Politics has much to do with it, maybe the judical system but overall these Chavs etc that are breeding who have no time for their children are the ones to blame. The kids you see walking the streets at night that when me and you were kids would have been past our bed time. Thats whats dragging us down the gutter IMO.

We cant blame everything on the government, although they havent helped much with their hand outs and pathetic punishments when people do wrong.
