After signing the fuel duty petition, I've been looking through some of the others for a bit of a giggle - There are some classics there:

Exempt caravan owners from any proposed 4 by 4 tax

allow laser hair removal to be available for free on the NHS for the Transgendered

Force all citizen to unlock thier Wifi so that everyone can share a free internet everywhere

Ban the use of plastic hub-caps on cars as they are dangerous.

completely outlaw the manufacture, sale and use of cigarettes and all other tobacco products and classify them as Class-A illegal drugs

Give everyone in the UK a mini-pig

Allow the option to vote against any of the petitions on this website.

Outsource all MPs

Cancel Channel 4 Show Location Location Location

DESIGNATE A BUILDING FOR ORGY USE

Yep, I'd sign that one.

If there are more negative votes, the original proposer gets thrown in jail for wasting government resources.

I think the fact that all these joke petitions get put on the website demonstrates the fact that they are all, 100% ignored by the government.
