Just come back from New York(china town) and the quality of some of the replicas is remarkable and you would only be able to tell the difference if you had a genuine one to compare it to.Be very careful buying so called high value items check the sellers feedback and look at the items he or she has sold in the past

Do you want just because its a rolex? Newer is not always better in the watch world... you can pick up a few years older sub for much less than that WITH papers.
I would really only recommend buying one with no papers if its real vintage ( i got a 40 yr old breitling on there last week which obviously has none but anything recent should really...) and would be cautious of a 3 year old watch with none.
Personally i wouldnt touch it. Complete pain in the *** to sell if you ever want/need to.
Very true- i picked up a white faced speedmaster on canal st here (ny) a few days ago for $30 (not for me..for someone else.)..... you would not believe it is bogus unless you REALLY knew your watches... be careful

At the very least you should ask the vendor for the serial number and the design/model number and verify these with Rolex. Theyll call you back in 20 minutes and youll at least be able to confirm that the watch isnt reported as stolen (or bogus).
