don't have much advice with regard cancer, not of the lungs anyway - however, I am quite sure that any kind of flying is a real no no! I am quite sure that if you were due to fly no insurance companies would touch you! My dad suffers from a few ailments including thrombosis etc - and its VERY hard for him to get insurance for flying because they see him as a risk.
But I don't think you should fly at all if you have any lung condition. I could, of course be wrong - but best to ask his consultant who will give you all the answers you need.
I am very sorry to hear of his condition, and wish him a good recovery!

I have had cancer which was not in the lungs and was operable. It is impossible to answer your questions without knowledge of his illness in particular. Ony his consultant can say that.

Hopefully it is operable and that would remove the problem. He would then be given chemotherapy to knock out any remaining cancer cells. If they cant operate he will get chemotherapy and maybe thermo radiation therapy.

I am very sorry to hear about his problem and I hope all goes well for him.

Sorry to hear that.

It is possible that it could be operable, depends on how far it's spread. AFAIK they can remove some of the lobes of the lungs.

As has been suggested, google it.

Hoping for the best for you and the family.

Im not entirely sure about the flight thing - sure insurance vdiffucult but i assumed it was if you had a puncture that there would be a problem
Anyway my stepdad had one lung removed a couple/3 years back - at that stage he was clear elsewhere despite a lifetime of smoking and hes travelled all round europe in the meantime had an active retirement . However its just been his 6 month check-up and they think they might have found something in the other , waiting to hear- hopefully its nothing.
So dont give up just yet ...

My elderly mother was diagnosed with lung cancer in March of this year and she passed away on the 18th October.
