Not half as much as alot of footballers the wage slip is for a month, has to be because theres no way in hell Riise earns £120k a week. (£30k is the real figure ) Good player IMO but nobody in the footballing world is stupid enough to pay him that per week....

Oh hang on, he plays for Liverpool doesnt he

Funny how the wage slip period is for week 24 though. That's 14th to 20 September. Which doesn't seem to tie in with the pay slip date of 1/09/2006.

Wierd.

Do footballers get paid 2 weeks in advance?

It may seem a lot of money, but you have to consider the overheads a professional footballer has compared to normal people :

1. Supporting a wife / girlfriend who does nothing except shop for overpriced tat and sit on a sunbed all day.

2. Secret cocaine / heroin / prostitute habit.

3. Car costs - huge insurance for their latest sports car after having written off all the previous ones, plus depreciation as the cars are sold every few months to keep up with the latest fashions.

4. Acting coach - important for getting the dives looking convincing, and doing the classic footballer 'look annoyed with hands on hips and one leg bent ' pose because they cant believe they didnt score.

5. Managers cut - lets face it, most footballers arent the sharpest tools, so they are bound to be getting ripped off big time by their personal agents.

But fair play, he works hard for his money - has to do at least a couple of hours a week running around.

I suppose it is a lot of money, but if you think most footballers careers are over by the time they hit 30, and unless they are really famous then they probably wont earn FA for the rest of their lives, they need to make as much as they can in a short time to set themselves up.

@ MC

I don't think point 4 is applicable in yer man's case though, a man who can break someones leg just by kicking a football at it really has no need for the play acting side of the game

You missed the obvious one in Riise's case though, paying the massed ranks of lawyers sorting out his bankruptcy issues

You'll find that all salary slips for people working in the UK feature those to section, unless of course you're one of the many now bespoiling our once great nation that's never actually collected a payslip

You'll have also noticed of course that the values next to both are 0.00

BTW for the record, unlike certain players over the years who have been unworthy of the privilege of wearing the hallowed badge (Collymore, Dicks, etc) , Mr Riise is worth every penny of whatever he's paid

Something dodgy about his NIC surely?

Mine works out about 9% of my top line

His works out at just over 1%?

My understanding of NIC, is that there is an upper limit to what is subject to NIC. IIRC it's about £30K.

As soon as I saw you'd replied to this thread, I knew you'd be commenting on the average wage.

You'll probably be infracted now for lack of originality...

It's self perpetuating though. That money goes to the Sousers in their giros who then buy tickets to the games, shirts etc thus funding his excessive wage...

It's always his stuff that gets leaked. mobile video clips etc. apparently he pest Norwegian models to go out with him leaving messages on their voicemail. The norwegian press have got hold of these calls and released them as well. You can be rich and a good footballer but birds still don't want to **** a ginger!

Yeah the posting of the address was a bit of a pisser for Mr Riise as it is genuine.
I hoped the date and time stamped piccy may help him work out who had taken it so he could arange for the guilty man to be tortured and then slaughtered
Interesting though, if a little out of date... I guess he gets paid less than many because he is ginger and therefore has no soul
