105.9 for V-Power this morning!!!! AArrrgghhh!
It seems to go up each week at the moment... and to make it worse, normal unleaded still seems to be the same price!, surely if they just put that up by 0.5p it would let them bring down the price of v-power by a couple of pence...... I know its my decision to pay, but the car likes it..... its just starting to get expensive...!!
Thats it rant over, I think that feels better, what are you currently paying??

Simple answer: Tune your car to run on 95ron (presuming there is some reason why it can't run on it already).
Loss in power is minimal, or to say the least; unoticable.

Personally I don't know why the petrol prices are going up . Yes I know it went up in a delayed budget rise but that was on the 1st October.
Maybe its us paying for Shell's and BP's Christmas party. I've heard they have both decided to hire seperate tropical islands for the whole festive period and roll in all their millions of pounds profit they make daily .

I think you'll find it might also have something to do with the price of oil being at a record high; it touched $93 per barrel for the first time yesterday and is expected to get to the $100 point later this year. All I can say is there'd better be a good bonus next year for those of us working in the oil industry...

Yep, spend over £50 on your shopping and get your petrol for 5p a litre cheaper too! Hence the reason why Ive switched from Shell to Tesco..
Surely its time we protested again as a nation and got the government to drop some of their ridiculous tax off the cost of petrol. What do they expect us to do? No decent transport, what are we supposed to do? Buy a donkey???

I was passing though Warwick last Thursday and topped up with V-Power and didn't notice until almost finished, the price was on the pump at - 112.9p Thieving scum! Normal unleaded was "normal" at 98.9p V-Power is usually 7p more than normal unleaded.

I guess fuel will always vary wherever in the uk you are .... but up here it goes drom 98.9 to about 105.9 and yes that is V-power prices spend more time looking for the cheaper garage and in turn spend more fuel in getting there. Tesco's is coming to be the preferred option and then all you do is add octane booster to up the Ron level.

As you said, there's no one big driving force at present, but lots of smaller ones add up. FWIW, the oil companies themselves mainly blame speculators on the stock exchanges for driving prices up.
Can you tell I work for an oil company yet?
