There was a story in the ES yesterday about school photographs at a Lewisham school.

As each class lined up to get their photograph taken the photographer made pupils line up by colour with the darkest skin at one end and the lightest skin at the other end. One girl tried to move to be near her friend and was told she was not 'light' enough.

The excuse from the school was that the photographer did not keep wanting to move his lightboards around.

I wonder if he used to work in South Africa by any chance?!

Heard this story, didnt know it was Lewisham though. What school? Anyone know. Only my niece and nephew are at school, in Lewisham.

Dont know how true the story is, but in most of the schools in Lewisham, it wouldnt be that hard to sort the kids by skin colour - line up all the black kids, then stick the one white kid at the end.

My wife did her teacher training in schools around Lewisham, New Cross etc... and most of the classes didnt have many white kids in them.

Funny how what was a true story yesterday is slowing getting "media'd" .... by the weekend it will be "one black girl was crying because she was told to stand at the ni**er end while the white kids all hit her with sticks"

Yeah I've noticed how it is virtually impossible to get a picture of a black person next to a white one without the right light board.
