Question Why is every other advertiser a trader now

on autotrader and the like . ( im sure ill be laughed at for my innocence)
Used to be that a trader would go out of his way to desguise this status becuase presumably he had to warrant the car in some way .
What has changed

Dont talk to me about Autotrader

I am now sick to death of people emailing me wanting to send the car to wherever, and im sick of all the phone calls asking how many miles has the car done then hanging up when I tell them

wtf do they want for a grand, a 1 owner, 25 miles luxury exotic car

some buyers seriously need to get real

You're not one of those people who "forgets" to put the mileage on the advert are you? That's one little trick that drives me mad. As if you are looking for a car below a certain mileage it means you have to waste your time to call the seller to find out (which is why they don't put the mileage on the ad).

Just put the mileage in the ad, then they will have more of an idea if they want the car before they call you

Yes I didnt put the mileage in the ad

I thought the price would have reflected that it was high mileage lol

Its a Laguna W reg in SIlver, 1.6 16V Sport just gone over onto 120k miles, its on here for 1100 I think, its on the car at 1195 (as people will barter anyway) and its on trader for 1100, but I will take a grand, taxed till end Dec, and MOT till end June 08

Just annoys me, someone phoned the other day asked how many owners, I told them 3 including me, and they hung up, wtf

Well they've got to put the phone down sometime, otherwise you'll be getting their life history by now.

What do you mean by hung up? was it a case of

"3 owners"
"Oh ,OK I was after a 1 or 2 owner car max, sorry good luck with sale etc"

or was it

"3 owners"
Brrrrrrrrrr

The latter wouldn't be very nice

Or those sellers who don't actually give you a straight answer...
"Subaru Impreza, TALK TO ME!"

"Well it's a very nice car"

"Whats the millage?"

"Well I've had this done - Blah Blah Blah"

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

In almost every case it has been the latter, not even so much as a goodbye

and 90% of the callers have been foreign too

And now I have been getting calls asking me what is wrong with it :cuckoo

And Ive lost count of the amount of people saying they will turn up then dont

lol, tbh I never really thought to put the mileage on, at that age of car and price I didnt think people would really be that bothered about the mileage

the majority of the calls have been from Liverpool too, and they sound so dismayed and dejected that the car isnt in Liverpool, even though the postcode is on the ad

Now sold, from someone who drove past the house today and saw it for sale

accepted 1050 for it, only cost me 1200 18 months and 18,000 miles ago, only thing I have had to have done is 2 new tyres on the front prior to the MOT

It's totally mad, I had a Honda Civic for sale a few years ago. I had about 5 asians phoning me at 11 pm from Manchester wanting to leave and be up in Glasgow for 3am all for an £800 quid car. No chance would I get up at that time for £800.

I have sold a fair few cars in the past and every Japanese car I sold illicited many calls from the Asian community, they bargain hard !

Niggest ********* were for anything semi sporty, Renault 1.7 GTX, huy was going on like he was writing an article for Evo and then drove like a **** on the test drive (he was the mate of the prospective buyer), turned up in an MR2, mint low miler, obviously pampered like nothing else, I expressed an interest and he was talking to my wife so he handed me the keys, I assumed he meant to have a go, he meant to have a sit in it but before he had chance to object I was getting my own back for the terrifying ride he had given me in our very manky Renault, he wasnt impressed, ten minutes of bollocking it senseless was very enjoyable, brought it back stinking of hot brakes, clutch and rubber !
