Are you a 'Drive in' or 'Reverse in' Parker ??
I am sitting parked in my van at the moment (reversed in 
) , and 4 cars have now come and gone, all have driven in to the parking space, which is all well and good to get in the space quicker , BUT, they are all having trouble reversing out onto the traffic ....... And it is a busy road.
I would have hought they would reverse in, as you can guage the traffic when you pull up to the space, but can't when you reverse out.
How do you lot park ......... Now tell me, sideways and over two bays

I reverse in almost all the time. You know, like you are supposed to.
Invariably, people that drive in are the sort of people that don't know what box junctions are for, and those sort of people need to be culled in the most horrific ways imaginable.

Who says you are supposed to reverse in?
I drive in, reverse out most of the time. It usually makes no odds either way, unless as you say you're then left to reverse onto a busy road. Of course, conversely, if you reverse into a bay at the supermarket, it becomes difficult to unload the trolley into your car.

I prefer to reverse in unless I'm going to the supermarket in which case I drive in so that I can put the shopping in the boot more easily.
One thing that annoys me are the concrete pillars in multi-storey car parks, they always seem to be in the wrong place and favour those that like to drive in as opposed to those who like to reverse in like me. I've often reversed in only to discover that I can't open the door then have to drive out and turn the car round

I mostly drive in - reverse out. Even on my drive where it leads onto a busy road.
Whats the point reversing into a small space when you can reverse out onto a massive road?

Obvoiusly, there are times for driving in, A Tescos and Waitrose near to us, have provided walkways between parking bays, so you reverse into your parking space ..... a local ASDA does also, but I don't take the scooby there ....... It's full of old cars and door dingers !!!!

reverse unless its a longer one and can drive in.
Years of london and NY have got me rather good at it.... although ocassionally I still struggle when in a LHD in a tight space

Always drive in now- well after some idiot built a low slooping wall where there hadnt been a week previous causing some rearbumper damage and a written off exhaust

The link you posted was from the "Reversing" section i.e. if you're performing a reversing manouvre using a driveway, it advises that you reverse in then drive out rather than the other way around. It doesn't say that this is how you should park and is advice and NOT a law or instruction.

I drive in and reverse in.
It all depends on the circumstances - how much of a rush I'm in, how tight the space is, other traffic behind, whether it will mean reversing out into traffic etc.
I did read that you should reverse in where possible, because low speed manoeuvres should be done when the engine is warm rather than cold.

Saw a brilliant incident at The Red Lion (Avebury) one night, when it was the bike meet. A traffic plod car drove in to the car park and stopped to have a look at what was going on, when they went to leave, they started reversing out onto the main road. As they did so, a bloke next to me tapped on the drivers side window and motioned for the driver to wind it down.
I thought, oh dear, this is going to get messy. But the conversation went like this.
Biker: Excuse me sir, is this your car?
Traffic Plod: No it isn't, it's a company car (playing along but looking unsure where this is going).
Biker: Hmmm, you weren't planning to reverse this car our of the car park onto a major highway were you?
Traffic Plod: Erm realising he's been rumbled, looks at passenger Plod who's cracking up laughing. *hurried whispers between the two* then motions for the Biker to come closer and whispers "psst, my mates a copper (motioning at passenger in comical manner), would it be ok if he got out, stopped the traffic, and directed me out"?
Biker: (Looking all serious), "hmmm, ok, fair enough, on your way sonny".
There was much laughing all round, including the traffic plod, top blokes.

If you can't reverse park, you shouldn't be behind the wheel. Simple as!

Ok then genius, whats best in my situation. Driveway ends in a footpath then onto a busy road (30mph limit most do 40-50mph).
Do I pull up, stopping all the traffic behind me hoping they'll leave enough room for me to be able to reverse onto my driveway or do I drive straight on forwards safe in the knowledge when I come to reverse off all I have to do is wait for a suitable gap in the traffic?
Common sense or just blindly follow the highway code in every situation?

I drive in to supermarket spaces because I need to get to my boot and I reverse into almost every other space because i am fantastic and brilliant

6 years of working at the Esso refinery ingrained reverse parking into me. The theory was that if the refinery was exploding all around you, it was quicker and safer to drive out of your car parking space,a long with 100's of other drivers.
Of course, the fact that you'd be blown to pieces before you ever reached the car was incidental!
