No tax ! would you grass ?
I walk past a house nearby, quite often and there are 2 cars on the driveway that don't have tax, or atleast the discs are out of date. 310706 to be precise.
The owners are obviously not short of cash looking at the 4 bed detached so why can't they tax their cars and how have they got away with it for so long ?
The cars have been untaxed for well over 12 months and are daily drivers, as they are often away from the house and I have seen them being driven around.
The cars are almost always parked "nose in" facing the house but I walked past today and one was on the road as the owner had just returned in it.
Now...time to grass I think.

Keep to your own business IMO. Just cause you cant get away with it doesnt mean others shouldnt End of the day none of us like paying taxes. Seems unfair etc but I find lifes easier if you just worry about your own life rather than others

Also agree - if it's not taxed, it's unlikely to be insured either.
I'm amazed that anyone could avoid detection for that long - in my area those DVLA tax/insurance checking cameras seem to be everywhere.

You can check whether they are taxed (maybe they are and not displaying disc) on the DVLA Online Vehicle Licensing | Home site

You don't know why they haven't taxed them, you just assume they don't have insurance etc...
I'd hate someone to kick me when I'm down
As said - mind your own!

Shopping won't do anything as they are parked on private land.
They'll only get penalised if they leave the cars on a public road or get pulled when driving.
They'll probably be SORNed.
They've been lucky not to have been caught out all this time.

Yeah, in due course they will be caught. You can't get away with it anymore, so they will get a big fine off the DVLA coming their way.
I was brought up getting told never grass, it earned me respect, still does - no one likes a grass!

Half of the threads on here complain about anti-social behaviour and feral youths. One of the reasons that this behaviour is so prevalent is that people will not report them to the police (Croxteth shootings is a prime if rather extreme example).

nothing will come of it, i tried to "grass" up a driver who had blocked the exit of the carwash with some ****en ridiculas parking (and no tax disc) and the knobber on the phone told me they couldn't do anything unless they saw the car being driven on the rad themselves (assume its a traffic warden or such)
complete waste of time, i ended up just waiting by the car until the dicksplash returned and shouting in the ignorant ***** face

In our area they are just not interested, the Bill say its a DVLA thing.
But if you dont have them registered to you its almost impossible to get picked up, no camera speeding fines or redlight stuff either.

My neighbour has a different car each month, old reckers, never taxed. Didn't give a toss about where they were parked, she would just leave them for days where they happened to end up. SO after a load of request from me and the rest of the neighbourhood and still more i don't give a toss attitude from the neighbour in question, i said sod it enough is enough, i tax mine and so does the rest of the street, why should she get away with it month after month so.
dvla
Sure enough about 10 days later they turned up and just lifted it when the neighbour was out, no messing, smashed the windows, chains through and up and gone within minutes.
Still have the same neighbour but her cars are always taxed now
