The wife was watching this and i being a good veteran Scoobynetter couldn't help but start pointing out all the gay scenes and connotations to her.
Afterwards she tells me that she had never thought of it like that and i have ruined a film that she 's always loved.(jobs a good 'un).

Look at all the blokes at odds with their masculinity. 
It's a superb film and they'll never make another like it so we should be thankful we get to see such great flight scenes.

They're all F5 Aggressors. Top Gun school did quite well out of it, both in terms of kudos and in terms of their operating costs getting covered...

General Gayness
Alongside the character specifics and, there are numerous aspects of Top Gun that support the homoerotic subtext theory. Firstly, a selection of actual lines form the film, all of which can be interpreted in some sexual sense:
