I understood from an article in PC Zone that it was an appaling film directed by an equally appaling director in the shape of Uwe Boll.

Seems to be given Game/Movie tie ins and make them shockingly bad.

True, he is a terrible director. But in this case that will probably actually help. Mind you, I gather he's had to tone things down from the game.
