Default Top Gear tonight

I'm surprised to not see a thread here near the top about this.

I hope it is as interesting as it sounds: BBC - Top Gear - Next Episode

Cant wait

Will be interesting to see the article on the 'best roads in Europe' - I expect they will include the Stelvio pass which should be interesting, seeing as everytime I've gone on a roadtrip around Europe we've planned on doing Stelvio, but haven't ever ended up doing it!

Knew it was on but decided to watch the rugby instead. I'd imagine TG hasn't changed much from the last series, 3 egomaniacs doing brainless stunts and supercar ****. Not my thing.

A fantastic start!

Glad they havnt touched the format, there are a few topgear haters but to those I say go watch 5th gear or any on the cable motoring shows.

Top Gear is about quality entertainment and it certainly did that tonight!

Even Top Gear magazine now describes the show as a "car-based entertainment show". If you want to know how many litres of space the Astra GLXi has with it's 60:40 split rear seats folded down, this ain't the show for you. I personally love it (although the magazine has gone crap, Evo is far better).

I don't hate TG, I love it but am realistic about how I think it could be better. I think tonights was a quite lame start to the run personally, with no laugh-out-loud moments, just a few chuckles.

Overall content, a car you can't buy, three more hardly anybody will buy and some views of Europe. I could go to the Yorkshire Dales for the afternoon and show you at least three superb driving roads (Ribblehead, Buttertubs and Greenhow Hill maybe). They may pale in comparison to the legendary Stelvio, but as usual they tittied about so much that there wasn't time to feature anything constructive. I still enjoy it, but feel they are still on the slide from the shows peak. IMHO.

Hamster seems to have gone all 'Jonathan Ross/Arctic Monkeys'

And to think they said that bump on the head had done him no harm...

Yes, just what has he done to his bonce

Anyway, the episode was good to OK. Also, when they did the car around the track thing, we got to listen to the car which is cool. Shame it was not the best sounding car, but hey you cannot have it all

Yep Stelvio had to be done.. I knew they would head for that one!

Done it myself but not in anything like what they had.

There are plenty of passes that are equal to Stelvio.

Furka, Grimsell, Sustan, Passa de la novella.

Well, one can't help feeling, that if one were to waft a well lit Clipper lighter in his direction, that his hair would explode in a puff of smoke and flame resulting in restoring his original (sensible) haircut....
