Default does anyone really hate there job?

I mean really detest it? as i'm wondering how people deal with it as i am in a job at the minute which i used to love but am now finding it very hard to stay focused as i don't feel anything for the job anymore but unfortunately i am very well paid so leaving isnt really an option!

Just looking for insight from others who may be in a similar situation.

Catch 22 situation ain't it? I think unless you have something better lined up you have to stay put. Why have you become disillusioned? Also bear in mind there are people out there who would give their eye teeth for a well paid job.

Depends,

Most Jobs have there ups and downs, today was a down day, I had to work for the first saturday in almost 3 years however the good days more than not outweigh the bad.

Is it the job you dont like, or the environment/ people you work with?

if its the job, then changing careers would be the way forward, mind you the grass is not always greener

years ago i had a job with a firm that imported steel. the woman i worked with hated me (i have no idea why - may be because i was younger and slimmer than her...) anyway she just to deliberately set traps for me to fall into and was forever finding fault with the tiniest of mistakes. i survived nearly 9 months. i would have had a nervous breakdown if i had stayed.

current job is great - new depot manager isn't... our MD employed with his widge and thinks the sun shines out of her... he's the only one who can't see that she's useless!! we asked her to get 2 pints of milk... she came back with 2 separate pints of milk!! in separate bottles ffs

i think it might be a case of new year new job for me!!

We'll need photographic proof I'm afraid.

I dont detest my job, but I do feel I am being wasted a lot of the time

Some days it feels like I have gone back 15 years, other days it feels like I am still learning

The main reason for me staying where I currently am is the location and the hours, other than that I would have been gone after the first few months

We are trying to change things, but it is a slow and difficult process with a couple of obstacles in the way (the MD and his Dad sadly)

My last job became a nightmare, I'd been there 7 years and was literally going nowhere (nowhere to go) nothing improved, nobody cared, it was hard, dirty and you worked in the ****test of conditions sometimes.
It was only by chance that what came up, did.
Naturally I jumped at the chance.
Similar money but boy is it better on the conditions front.
Especially the women.

Dont hate it and get paid well but there is far more stress than I would like.

Only reason I don't leave is the final salary pension at 50 and the redundancy package.

I hope they pay me off soon.

Cheers

Perhaps they didn't have any 2 pint bottles in stock.

FFS what difference does it make? It's still two pints.

that was just one of the many thousand examples since she started on 1st June

she's been of sick more than she's been there, and she has had more hospital and doctors appointments in the last 3 months than i have had in my entire life!!

she's in her early 30's and single, yet she dresses in the clothes that the local charity shop throw out!!! or "maternity" smocks when she's *not* pregnant

Big Jay - The important thing to remember is that all jobs are ****e. I used to make someone else loads of money by working 70-80 hours a week, and they paid me well for the service. Then I became self employed. Now I make me loads of money for working 20-25 hours a week. Maybe 6 of those hours are spent helping people, which I love and it makes me feel good, and the other 14-19 hours are paperwork to make sure I get paid. When I worked for someone else I had 107 employees that I personally interviewed and hired. The crux question was always "Would you do the job just for satisfaction if we didn't pay you" Any lying **** that said they would didn't get a job. You work to earn and that is it. Job satisfaction is a non quantifiable variable that you can use to justify a really crap job. I love doing what I do because of the money and the hours. If someone told me I could continue to do what I do on minimum wage with 20 days holidays I would get a job stacking shelves in Tesco

Yeah, I hated my job with a real passion so I quite and started to play poker for a living. I don't know whether poker will work out and I don't know if I'll maybe one day have to sell the house or something but I feel a whole lot better for not being miserable for 8 hours of the day!

you must be having a laugh??

classic case of ripping into somebody for no good reason, stand back and have a look at yourself, you try and inform SN that this person is useless, fair enough, in these circumstances one normally picks a decent "story event" to back ones story up

you tell us she was asked for 2 pints of milk and came back with 2 pints of milk? and therefore she is useless

coming back with 2 pints of silk (if possible?, maybe stuff the bottles full of it?), would be useless!

as above, bringing aa cow back would be a good story to tell, but 2 pints of milk?? PMSL i want to infract you for trolling
