It has just occurred to me that PS Lewis has been absent for quite a while after his ban. I thought that we were told that he was not permanently banned so I am wondering how long this will go on. Maybe he is away of course and he will eventually reappear.

I certainly hope that he has not been put off by the circumstances of his last ban which seemed strange to me for the post he had made which seemed to me to be within SN's rules.

He has been part of SN for such a long time and I believe that without him SN would suffer a significant loss. He has a sharply defined sense of humour and as we all know is a past master at the definitive "wind up" I have of course had a few "meaningful" exchanges with him in the past and he has certainly "got me going" pretty effectively! I see it as part of the entertainment and cannot see why that can be regarded as objectonal. Surely we have room here for a bit of "**** taking" or just genuine fun!

i must say that in all his posts I have never seen him make a vicious or unpleasant post even though he is well able to take care of himself when others have been rude or unpleasant or tried to take the mike in a rude manner. He is entitled to that of course.

We all know about his strange political statements and it gives us a heaven sent excuse to have a personal rant about his apparent heroes. Don't see much harm in that.

I personally would not find it necessary to dislike anyone for their personal opinions whether they agree with mine or not, but I may well object strongly to an unwarranted or disrespectful attack for what I believe in. He has never done that to my knowledge.

I am well aware from what I have seen that there are a small number who dislike him but I get the feeling that there are many more who would miss him and I think that SN would be the poorer without him. He is a perfect foil for those of course who take delight in insulting his urinary habits and his other waste management affairs

I sincerely hope that we will see him back soon and that he will be treated fairly and not be under in constant threat of further bans for posting in his usual inimitable style.

I have made this post on a point of principle and and simply because I want what I believe to be good for ScoobyNet.

I think he is a victim of his own notoriety.

He's wound up so many people over the years, he gets more than his fair share of infractions.

Personally, I find him an amusing distraction. Unfortunately, there are too many people who can't stand him and it's always a matter of time between his bans.

I would be very interested to know who he is though. Maybe one day he'll choose to reveal his identity. It might be a real shock to find out. Maybe he's Shaun or Simon's alter ego for example.

I agree with what you say but Pete is forever sticking his chin out and saying plant one on me and then acts surprised when people do. I too find him witty and funny but Scoobynet isn't the PSL show - he takes up a disproportionate amount of moderation time.

I would like to see Pete back but he needs to adapt to the way the board is moving - as do we all, or take our leave.

Thing is i genuinly believe Pete is bullied to a degree, he cant seem to go a week without being Infracted/Banned, some he deserves, some he definitely does not. certain people seem to gain great pleasure in having him banned.

If he's buggered off, i cant say i blame him.

PSL, is PSL. Some love him, some hate him.

My personal views aren't important - but, I have no real personal problem with him. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean a lot if a good number of people do not feel the same way.

His ban has run out, and I will be very closely monitoring to make sure nobody treats him unfairly.. he did the crime and did the time, etc.

My suggestion, is that we all give him the benefit of the doubt and move on.

Some people need to develop a bit of self control and just ignore things they don't like.. but Pete also needs to do the same and not attempt to spoil existing threads that are not designed for his humour.

I think a happy balance will be found, and we can all be happy.

One thing we're not going to do is alienate someone who is attempting to fit in with the community, only those who want the community to fit in with them.

Pete's welcome back, with maybe a tweak or two and I'll be making sure this works both ways.

Regarding this thread. I appreciate the sentiment Leslie, but its unnecessary.

a) he is no longer banned
b) he's welcome back
c) the rules remain the same
d) he will not be singled out, unless he singles himself out

I'll lock this now otherwise these kinds of threads can attract the activists on a mission!
