Default Accident claim ??

Wife has recently been invlolved in a car accident, where she was the passanger, here injuries will probably mean she will be off work for around two to three months in total . luckly she works in a profession that she will get full pay whilst off sick. the driver off the car was using her sisters car due to here own car being in the gargage getting repairs ( no, not accident repairs !! ) she was insured for this damaged car thru having insurance on here own regular car whch I belive automatically gives you third party insurance on any other car.

question is can my wife claim damages etc thru the other girls insurance, if so what sort off money is she looking at ??

Tsk money talks eh?

not "she;s injured" i hope she gets well soon :

anyway enough of the digs

the claim is against the insurance policy that was covering either driver.

All that will happen is that the insurance co will load the sisters policy next time as a claim was made on that policy (in effect although she didnt have an accident, a claim was made on her policy)

cost wise it depends..

a straightforward whiplash with Physio will return about £2k... 1.5l back to you once the physio is paid for..

greater injury's will need more treatment etc

i got 1.5 for a straightforward whiplash

i'd check the insurance policy as not all insurers cover you to drive another car anymore

Not sure what the injuries where... but in my job if I was off for 3 months with a traumatic episode then my employers would call into question whether I could continue in my present employment !!

Spot on...this is very common on fully comp policies now, both mine and wife's insurance this bit has been removed since renewal this year. If driver was driving uninsured will make any claim a lot more difficult.

What injuries will mean two to three months off?
