Question Wing mirror bump

The misse's has had a bump with a van, wing mirror on wing mirror. Shes in the Volvo. Our mirror Ok, vans is broken. 1 to the Volvo.
Tha road is a narrow afair with no line markings. No witnesses, phone numbers exchanged. I get phone call saying shes had the bump. Thankfully no real harm done.
Now what would be your next course of action be, my intention is to say you fix your car and I fix mine.

i had this some yrs back, i had an older mk2 cav SRI, rubber kind of backing to the mirror, when our wing mirrors smacked into each other, my wing mirror was fine strutcture wise but the glass went poof, all into my car (window open, mirror folded), we stop, chops off, i blame her,she blames me, kicks off, i get out,so does her chap, he says leave it mate, there both broke, as u say,we fix ours,u fix urs, hers was mullered too, cool i thought,

2 days later letter in the post saying i was involved in a hit and run FFS !!!

straight onto phone, tell them the score, o.k,amend our database, end of

madness !

Anyway, I know no one is really right in his situation. But on the same note who's wrong?
What would the insurance company do??
Advice needed. P

its your word against theres, But who was moving? were you both driving or was one of you stopped?

Both driving (no road markings) = knock for knock

one stopped the other driving = person who was drivings is at fault

I presume they both exchanged their own details. If not she should report it to the police to protect against being accused of a hit and run. I think she has at least 24 hours to do that. Otherwise sit back and wait to see what happens. I think in these cases it it usually treated as a "bump for bump" incident. If you insurance contacts you make it clear that you do not wish to claim for your own mirror so as to protect your NCB.

Keep a disposable camera in the car. Can help to prove your version of events. Some people tell lies, so I'm told.
