The Empire Strikes Back just edges it for me from the origionals and Revenge of the Sith from the latest batch as it brought everything together from the last 30 years If i have to pick one then Empire it is. I love the ice Planet Scenes

A resounding Empire Strikes Back
Due to its darkness and unfinished ending
Revenge of the Sith coming 2nd, as it is dark too, and finishes everything off quite nicely
Although I have to say I would love to see a 1 hour special of just Jar Jar binks getting tortured in the most painful and excrutiating ways known to the universe

A New Hope For the same reason as Richie, followed closely by The Empire Strikes Back, definitely the darkest of the proper ones
I'd watch that, count me in

Yes, the original title was Revenge of the Jedi, but Lucas changed it to Return as he felt it a little too much for a kids film
Then he added the stupid Teddies
Which again were originally meant to be more like mini chewbaccas and a lot more scary, but again he thought the kids would be too scared
fecking idiot

Star Wars IV A New Hope
Probably because i saw it in the local cinema back when released. I was around 14/15. It was a great film and really made an impression. I suppose it was 'my generations' Star Wars
TBH i have not really enjoyed the last 3 films made. Great effects but felt boring with a tedius story (compared to the first three made) and just too long. some poor characters Ja-Ja ***** did not help.

The best is probably Empire Stikes Back - however I've not seen it for probably 15 years, so I've voted for the Revenage of the Sith as that was surprisingly good IMO - easily bettered the other 'new' ones!

At the time I told all the kids in the cinema the 2nd time how the film was progessing . 20 odd years later and some kid did the same to me when watching episode 2 before Yoda was to fight count dooku.

empire strikes back, every time.
vader's reveal on the catwalk is one of the great moments of cinema. for me, it's up there with the opening shot from lawrence of arabia, the chestburster scene in alien and that car chase in bullitt. not forgetting jacqueline bisset's wet t-shirt in the deep...

Return Of The Jedi
Out of the newer films it would easily be revenge of the sith as that was more like the darker older films of the originals and the making of darth vader and the emperor.
However i think overall my favourite is the return of the jedi, it brings the story to a very fitting end. That and the build up to the final battle scene is very good along with the fantastic fight with luke and darth vader at the end on the emperors ship.
All the old ones are very good and they all have very good scenes in them which make them special.
I still love watching the attack on the deathstar in a new hope, especially cranked up on dolby digital

Star Wars VI The Revenge of the Jedi
Quite frankly I'm horrified that this went 30 odd posts before being flagged
