Default Replacement cat flap for UPVC door?

Our house has a cat flap fitted in the back UPVC door which seems a bit stiff - I initially suspected that our cats were just weak but I've had a go myself and there really seems to be a bit of oomph needed to open it.

Does anybody know if these are standard size and replaceable or is it a case that this is a 'custom' flap?

There normaly made by a company called Staywell,if so,you should'nt have a problem getting a new one. They do all sorts of different sizes....

Pet Mate is the other main make. But they are not the same size as each other.

Be aware that even if you buy a like for like, you may need to redrill the mounting holes, although the flap bit should be standard (I replaced our Staywell and it needed re-drilling)

I have had the opposite problem .
Most of the flaps I have tried getting through have been like Barn doors flapping in the wind .
I would just put up with it and enjoy mate !!!

We have got one fitted in the bottom half of the pvc door which replaced the original glass panel. The replacement panel was made of wood to fit the door.

I find the flap on ours easy tp push alright but have had difficulty in getting through the hole!

We swapped one Staywell for another no problems. Just took the first one off, measured the hole and bought another one the same size. Easy!
