Should travel round the outside of the plan as it appears to, and would naturally still seak an earth.

Saw some fantastic lightning in Florida this year, got some footage of a lightning storm.

Got a good still of a strike in Tunisia a couple of years back too

I was once sitting in the right hand seat of a Canberra T4 trainer doing a check ride on another pilot in Cornwall at about 2000 feet when a lightning bolt came in through the canopy from just behind my head, missed my right leg by less than a foot and disappeared through the bottom of the aircraft with a very big bang!

We went back to St Mawgan and landed immediately!

I was on a 747 several years ago coming in to land at Schippol when the plane was hit by lightning - just a massive loud bang and I thought it was a bomb or something at the time. My ears were ringing for ages afterwards. Shook me right up!

Not brave enough to risk it again! I have a great respect for natural phenomena, especially thunderstorms.
