let's see how much news coverage we see when parts of London suffer some dampness, compared to 1/10 homes in Hull being ruined!

LoL at commentary from the test match ..

11.45 am What was just mild tempest has now progressed to virtual Armageddon ... it's almost semi-darkness and street lights have started coming on. The occasional flash of lightning lights up the sky but otherwise it's apocalyptic. There is more chance of sailing on the outfield than playing cricket ...

Do you really think they're equally newsworthy? Personal tragedy, yes, but news?

Torrential rain for 4 hours straight in Fleet - and now the sun has come out. Think I may light the barbie, could be the only chance I get this summer....

Just heard from where I used to work - 420 people, 5 storey building, very large firm of solicitors - all been sent home until 2pm as building flooded out. For some reason the drainage pipes from the roof come down through the middle of the building - they backed up and then flooded 3 floors.

This evening I'm supposed to be helping set up a garden party for tomorrow....
