Hi,
Someone posted quite some time ago about an EU Employment Law directive that effectively said that once an employer provided a benefit for a set period, the benefit was considered part of the employee's salary, even if it was not written into the employment contract, and therefore could not be withdrawn without compensation.
Can anyone point me to a site that has the exact details of this ruling ?
This doesn't affect me (being a contractor), but the stingy buggers where I work are about to remove the subsidy from the staff canteen. This is something that has been around for decades and so now the cost of lunch will more than double (for food that is pretty crap to start with)
Thanks,
Andrew.
