I am seeing more and more of these around, they are always on tv and jjb sell them. Are they any good. I was thinking about buying one just to lose some weight and get a bit fitter.

Can't see the link but I'm sure it's okay.
So often what you do with kit rather than what it looks like.

I make do with a few sturdy chairs, some dumbells, a wall, a sit up mat and very little else - And it seems to be working pretty well.

best bet if you are gonna go down that road is buy a sturdy bench (without the crappy leg attachments) and maybe a barbell and a couple of heavy dumbells - thats all you'll need

Nah - just do some press ups between three chairs (so you go "lower" than ground level), a pair of dumbells, a pull up bar and do some of these "Chinese" press ups...

Start like this (hands touching in a diamond shape, head "in" diamond):



Raise legs into start position:



Do press ups until arms fall off:
