What iPod Dock?
God, there are loads of these things! We've just entered the 21st century and bought an iPod Video, and now NEED one of these docking thingies.
Went to Currys and there are just too many to make a decision. So, I am asking the Scoobynet massive to recommend me one around the £70-80 mark.
Any ideas?

Clare,
What exactly do you want to do with the dock? Is it just to plonk the iPod in it to allow for charging, synching, and using line out facitliy to connect to computer/hi-fi? If so then I'd go for the Apple iPod Universal Doc. It's £25 from the online store (probably does not include shipping though, so PC world or some real world shop that has Apple merchandise could be a better bet). It comes with five adaptor plates, depending on what model you have depends on what plate you use.
All you need to do is plug the USB cable that came with the iPod into the Dock and the other end into the computer and slam the iPod into it's new home.
From the price range you mention I'm guessing you are possible looking for a docking hi-fi solution. If so then as you have found you have a lot of options. To be honest, if you have a home hi-fi with a free input then I'd simply get a 3.5mm to 2 phono/rca cable, plug the 3.5 milly into the ipod's headphone jack, then the 2 phono/rca into a free input on the hi-fi and there's no need for a separate docking hi-fi. Other options would be to get a set of PC speakers and do a similar thing with them, this is what I'll probably end up doing on our boat. It's not pretty, but it will work and it's cost effective.

Thanks Marcus. I'm sort of into the look of them And it's for the sitting room or the kitchen and our stereo system is in the dining room... Oh, and yes, it is a hi-fi thing we're after.
Mrs ESC, the BOSE will probably be out of our price range...
