Avoiding your question but I do know that a house I owned in London cost £850 when it was built in 1890 and sold recently for £850,000
I wonder what the stock market comparisons are?

450k in Feb 2005.
600 now, apparently
All relative - neighbours are also in the fake money.
Although my punt at my3 bed flat in E Finchley in 1999 for £66k has shown a turn of luck.
Just had an offer for £345k on it.
Beer, anyone?

bought my 3 bedroomed terrace for £75k in march 05 aged 20.
average price on my street now is at least £90k.
as im quite young, me and my fiance are gonna consolidate all my debt (around £15k worth) and re-mortgage. oh and never do it again (get into debt i mean )
some people say i would be mad to do it. but if you look at it as if i was buying now, id still pay 90 odd grand for the same house without the purchases i have now such as car, bathroom, decorated bedrooms etc etc.

Block Paving
Full UPVC Double Glazing
etc, etc
Sleep at night cos I only owe £49k over 16 years, what exactly would £49k buy you these days?
A £49k outstanding mortgage is absolute peanuts compared to what a first time buyer has to fork out
Come to think of it, my Scoob costs me as much monthly as my mortgage
