hmm my original post was nuked when SN had a brain fart.

I was looking for a decent book really - something I can use as a reference manual type of thing.

Looks like I've space for a 3-4ft tank (bloody hell they are expensive!)

Depends what you want, should be able to get a fully sorted (bar fish) fresh water tropical tank that size for £200-£300, or look on eBay for second hand. If you're going marine then it can be much more expensive.

I know of a 5 foot tank and stand and filters etc is, both tropical and marine capable (filters for both including protein skimmer & coral etc)

tbh it can bo done pretty cheap, unless you go the planted route lol

this was my first tank,

i paid £50 for:

3ft tank
1000 external filter
heater
air stone and pump




i added co2 injection and ei ferts and this was the result



i got board of the constant cutting so decided to move to african cichlids, for there colour and lively ness

this is it now







the move over meant i had to up the ph and gh/kh but they love it now,

and dont mix comminity fish with say a sichlid such as the red devil or it'll be scrap ahoy

My mum made this mistake a while back oops...

I add fertiliser and they've improved. Do you know the species names of the plants?
