Question

I am just about to purchase a Pioneer DV-444 DVD Player.

From the DVD Player Specs :
When playing region 2 (Pal) discs this player will output in standard Pal - Compatible with all UK TV's. When playing region 1 (NTSC) discs the player will output in either NTSC 3.58 or Pal 60Hz- Compatible with most UK T.V's but check your T.V's specification's before ordering.

My TV is a Philips 24PW6322/05 Widescreen , I can't find out if it's compatible so don't want to order the Player yet.

ANy help greatly appreciated.

regards

Andy

Thumbs up

99% sure it supports ntsc. Most if not all tv now-a-days will support ntsc through the scart/svhs/composite input. Look in the tech specs in the manual.

Err. Manual. Is that like the instructions.. I think they're with all my others... LAND FILL

I'll keep looking.. am pretty sure it'll work though.

[EDIT - i've found the manual , but it only tells me what NTSC is, not if the TV supports it ]

My Sony is 5 years old and that supports NTSC, I think most modern TV's support it. Have you tried there web site?

I'm gonna go for it, the TV's not that old, there's no info about the Tv on their website or anywhere??

Cheers for the quick response.. Scoobynet.. so much better than the dedicated DVD/ Home Cinema Forums.

AVI,
most modern tv's support ntsc format.
I always presume that if it has a scart connection,it will run at 60hz.
