EU treaty referendum is ruled out ...
Well, what a surprise .... BBC NEWS | Politics | EU treaty referendum is ruled out
"Downing Street has indicated the treaty that emerges from next week's EU summit will not be put to a referendum.
Tony Blair promised a public vote on the EU constitution in 2004 - before it was rejected by France and Holland.
Number 10 said the document expected to be agreed next week would be an "amending" treaty rather than a "constitutional" treaty"
I also read that it would be agreed to have a second meeting on it at the back end of the year. Hopefully Flash will have got the message by then and ruled it out or gone for a referendum!
Billy Liar really should have gone years ago - preferably before getting elected as PM .....

This is a shameful episode, a complete letdown of the electorate by a lying self seeker who will do anything to further his own cause.
One could only hope that the opposition, such as it is, might cause ructions in the House and force a debate over it. Billy no doubt would use the guillotine option of course-as he has done over the last years more than any premier in history, even if the opposition had the guts to try it! There is no place for open debate in the House in this period of autocracy.
