Police chase on M69 this morning?
Long shot, but does anyone else know anything about the police chase on the M69 (Leicester to Coventry) this morning? As I joined the M69 there were 4 police Volvos parked up. About 3 mins later there were blue lights and flashing headlights behind. I was not sure what was going on and assumed they had just had a call to an incident further up the motor way. I noticed a black Skoda Octavia in the outside land with a police car behind and wondered why he was not moving out of the way. The Skoda then weaves all over the road in between other traffic. He was not going very fast (may be 80 - 85) and when he went past it looks like a business man from what I could tell. I followed for a while, but one of the Police car's slowed the traffic down after a few miles. I think they eventually turned off at the A5 turning.
It was quite exciting while it was happening, but the lack of speed by the Skoda made me wonder if this was some sort of exercise. Are the police allowed to do that on public roads?

Well . . As the POLICE were driving Volvo's, we know that the Constable's lives were in no danger! . . .But perhaps it would be more in the public interest if we had Skoda's an LAda's chasing Volvo's??...
I just don't know anymore.. .Answers on a postcard!!!

There was some footage on a "Cops on Camera" sort of programme a couple of weeks ago. They had a chase that was actually an exercise, where the "criminal" was actually bumping the police cars while they were trying to box them in - all on a public road!
