Question ....
We have 2 rats here in the Old Peoples Home - pets, not vermin!
They have chewed their way through the bottom of 3 expensive plastic bottomed cages.
We have now put them into a 4foot aquarium tank (without the water smart *****!)
Problem we now have is that the water bottle, which was a through metal cage type, will not work on/in a glass sided aquarium.
I have tried numerous hanging ideas, but all are problematic - a water bowl just gets picked up and thrown by the little gits ......
Anyone any answers??

Hi Pete,
How abut using a couple of the rubber sucker things with a spring/wire between to hold the bottle in place?
Seem to remembe rthe angle of the bottle is prety crtical or it just leaks.
Had grebils as a child (but not in the pet shop boys way), they taste just like chicken!

My youngest has 2 pet rats, also kept in a glass 'aquarium' type tank ( specific for rats/hamsters etc )
We originally used a bottle that was held on the glass with suckers, within a month they had eaten the rubber suckers !!
We now have a bowl that we fill up with water, it's made from pot so there is no chance they can throw it around..
* now goes away to check on the Cola myth :0/

We got 8 of the little blighters lol.Was gonna suggest the rubber suckers, but if they chewed the cage then prob not a great idea.
How about putting an inner layer inside the old cage, bit of ply or something that you can renew, and check is not being chewed thru.
OR Something on the outside of the base, again something that is harder to chew thru and can be replaced with ease.
Aquariums take away the whole climbing thing for them, fun to see them hanging off the cage in random ways.
Failing that, a nice heavy terracotta pot or something. Or sucker THAT to the bottom of the cage
