Parking Tickets
Well unlucky as I was, I parked on a yellow line outside a kitchen shop to pick up a sink and accessories, before i knew it within a couple of minutes some Parking attendents has pounced and put a ticket on the car. I have a receipt for the sink and other bits, what are my chances of appealing against this, can i claim that i needed to park outside the shop to pickup a heavy/akward item.

Bet that delivery option doesn't look as expensive anymore, no chance with that line of appeal

The ticket should say you were there for at least 5mins(grace)
Go and check that the lines are finished off,as in at the end they have a line across. Got off with that one, myself.

Well, if me I would contest it, as you have nothing to loose. I contested a ticket that I recieved whilst parked in Westminister in London. Most councils allow you to do this via their website, so go online, put your case forward.
In this situation I would mention that your were loading / unloading, as I was also parked on a single yellow, collecting some barrels. Dont get personal, just state the facts, state the time on the ticket / reciept, and mention that as the shop is a bathroom supplier, that you would imagine most customers have to park outside, to collect goods, so 2/3 mins isnt unreasonable.
I won my case, I was fair, to the point. Normally, the warden has to take a picture, as evidence, so you should be able to see how your car was parked. Once the council has reciept of your letter, the time period stops, aka you normal have 30 days or something to pay, this will be frozen until the appeal has been done.
Give it a go, you have nothing to loose.
Best of luck.

Surely if you parked on a yellow line during the "naughty hours" it is right, fair and proper to be fined?
Following that logic, it is wrong, unfair and improper to contest the fine?
It is en-masse appealing for valid ticketing that impacts the honest, proper parking tax payer...

I think it is shameful that you got a ticket for 1 minute even if you were not entitled to pick up the goods. This is not the Britain that we used to know! I personally think you should have been in the clear anyway and I would not take it lying down myself.
Good luck.

go back and look for any signs, if it says no loading on that street your buggered. if theres no loading restrictions then your safe as houses and send em copy of receipt for the goods and letter saying i was loading and should be formality to get it ripped up

if there were no loading marks - ie yellow stipes on the kerb, you've no chance. Just yellow lines on the road though, and loading is usually permitted
the warden whoe patrols near some shops here tends to pop in to the shops and warn people they need to move. I'm sure most wouldn't bother though
