£500 million a year is spent on British caravans : Source
The BBC license fee nets over £2 Billion a year. If a shade over a quarter of this was provided to the Top Gear team they could buy all the caravans produced in the UK and blow them all up!
Now that would be the license fee well spent IMHO

My Dad was a member for many years and we had a great number of holidays on cl sites and the likes
They now have a touring caravan on a seasonal pitch in Devon which I often frequent...

That was BEFORE I fitted my CockLink - now, I get some pretty lights telling me that my engine has blown up and I should stop and investigate (as if the clouds of smoke wouldn't tell me)
By the way - It's my Birthday Today!!!!!!!!

we have a 17' one, and use a Mondeo TDCi to tow it. we can keep at the (car) speed limit all day long, but then we come across a camper and iut's 40 all the way.
I'd love to leavce it on a nice site in the Lakes, as I hate towing, but it cost £1500+ just for the season. That's a lot of hotel breaks...

Guy at works recond caravans should be banned from the motorway, which is perverse logic given that that's where you're most likely to be able to get passed
I'd happliy sell the can and vote for a total ban, when the ban horseboxes, old codgers, tractors and lorries. and Clarkson.
P.S. noptice the Impreza sponsored link amongst the caravans ones ;-)

Same here.
parents have a big caravan and tow with a mondeo tdci. usually sit around 65
the reno 25 v6 2.7 we had was great, auto so slap the cruise on, even when towing and it just kept one pace the whole time. zero effort.

One reason to be in teh caravan club:
Mayday/ Green flag recovery ....
I.e A proper flatbed truck on the 1st call so your 4wd scooby / automatic BMW doesn't get f**kup by being towed by a tow truck using lifting eyes. Or having to wait for the flatbed, because the AA/RAC send out wrong type of truck.
And I don't even have a caravan. Although my BMW does have a tow hitch, so I suppose I could tow something, well I used to tow a bike trailer....before the tow electrics packed in and some chavs nicked the wheels off my bike trailer (yes, they nicked the wheels off my sodding trailer - it would have been easier to nick the whole thing...as I didn't lock it )

Can't beat that feeling of 'roughing it' in a two man tent or reasonable sized motorhome
Equipped with features such as a 12-foot garage
This Winnebago Class A motorhome exudes style by the mile, with a flashy exterior
The 2008 Fleetwood Southwind Class A Motorhome dazzles with its full-body paint
oh what the hell use the clicky there's more quotes to laugh at that I can be botherd to post.

(I can't belive I ported the head on that thing, still, it would do a ton after that )
