Flying short haul with BA - baby food
Hello
I am off to Portugal with the family this weekend. We are flying BA from LGW and will have our 7 month old son with us. I asked them about travelling with food for him and BA said that we will need to taste all liquids in front of security staff. Has anyone got any experience of this ?
BA reckon that if its milk, juice or sterilised water then you have to taste it, but you dont have to do anything with milk powder. Problem is we have a 5 odd hour gap between when we land and when we get tothe villa, during which time he will need 2 feeds, so if the sterilised water is opened, it wont be sterile any more....
Any comments or help welcome !!

I wouldn't worry too much.
First kid - sterilisation involves milton fluid, steamers, bottles scrubbers etc etc, then miligram perfect prep of bottles using boiled, sterile water
Second kid - stick the stuff through the dishwasher, boil the kettle and make the bottles
Third kid - give it a rinse under the tap, a couple of shakes of formula and mix it with tap water.
Sterilised water wont become that unsterelised after 5 hours. Alternatively, make up a few feeds before you go (using method 1 above obviously), cool them and put them in an icebox. It won't do them any harm to pop them out of the box to taste them then put them back in until needed

Just open it and drink it no big deal but make the wife do it as it tastes horrible.
