Sentencing in the US
Watched a programme last night on NBC (I think) interviewing inmates from a women's prison. There was a middle aged woman who was well presented and came across intelligently 9not liek some of the other inmates). turns out she was doing 15 to life for involuntary manslaughter.
Drove a car over the limit and had an accident where someone died. Now that is a deterrent!!!

Me too.
The 3 strikes and you're out policy caused a guy to be given 25 years for stealing a slice of pizza.
Directors of companies make a mistake and they get 250 years etc.
Several states with the death penalty.
Yet they still have spiralling crime.
