Panic during exams.......
My daughter has nearly finished her final uni exams. Quite tough going and her best pal had a severe panic attack and has been unable to take the last 3 of 8 exams. She is a very bright girl and not trying it on.
Does anyone have experience of what the uni might do in the circumstances? She probably has enough accumulated marks to get a degree but obviously this could affect the pass mark/grade. Thanks, David

First thought, put her across your knee and give her a damn good spanking. more for your benefit, she may get something out of it.
Other than that i have nothing, get her to speak to her doc.

Thanks Steve. I've told my daughter to tell her friend (who has gone home) to get a Dr's Certificate or similar NOW rather than later. d

My sister had a Uni exam the day after my Dad went into a coma (he's ok now thankfully ). She tried her best but had to leave as she was too upset, but I spoke to her tutor and she advised we picked up an ECF (extenuating circumstances form) from reception, which was approved by the doctor. Any exams she ended up failing (which was just one in the end I think) she was able to take a resit as if for the first time, if she failed it again she was then allowed the normal resit.
Main thing to do is to see the Doctor pronto.
extenuating circumstances form - Google Search
Good luck.

When I was at Uni I missed an exam due to illness - genuine and not self-inflicted (not saying hers is!) They let me do the resit in the summer and I passed. This was not my final year, so it wasn't quite so important.
They should be sympathetic and allow her to retake.

Thanks Jamie. That's very useful info. My gal is at Bristol so hopefully they will have something similar. I am going to send that Google link down the wire for her to pass to her pal
Thanks Clare. Glad it worked out.
