I will be driving from Aberdeen to see Genesis first in Manchester and next night in London.
Rather than take the car right into the centre of London, I would prefer to park for 24 hours at a tube or train station near beginning of the M1 to let me get out in reasonable time .I would catch tube or train to centre.
Any suggestions please!?

Watford junction is about 5 minutes from the M1 and will take you into Euston, takes about 20 minutes or so. IIRC the last train back is about 2am.

I live 2mins walk from West Finchley tube (Northern line). Could park in my street. We are 5mins from J2 of the M1.

West Finchley or Finchley Central for me. I used to live on West Avenue, two mins walk to the tube station.
