Angry Just got in from the pub...

Firstly, let me apologise for the amount of asterisks that may appear in this post, but I'm f***ing p***ed off!

Just been for a few beers in town, I'm not a chav (honest!) but ended up in a chav-bar. Now, I noticed out of the corner of my eye a chav girl (not much older than 20?) smoking, with a push-chair facing her. I thought that it was odd, but that she probably had some shopping or something heavy in the chair, no parent in their right mind would bring a baby to a pub late at night... right?

Wrong! There was a 2-year old sitting in the push-chair asleep, while it was surrounded by loud music, disco lights, smoke (mostly from it's mum's cigarettes) and chavs drinking alcohol! I couldn't f***ing believe it! A two-year old in a pub late at night surrounded by smoke and chavs! And the worst bit is my money contributed to her f***ing cigarettes in all probability.

Sorry but I'm just p***ed off! Both because of the mother, and the pub letting it happen in the first place!

Rant over!

Sometimes it would be nice to see if you could make that sort of person see sense dont you think??

There was a girl at work that was pregnant and she was always puffing away in the smoke room and all she was talking about was hoping that 'as long as its healty I arent bothered'

They have no idea!

Shocking isn't it, but also fairly common. I don't go to my local very often (will do after smoking ban starts) but every time I've been in there in the evening there are usually one or two people with very young kids. Last time there was a big bloke standing at the bar smoking holding a 2 or 3 year old in his other arm, and that was at gone 11pm with live music blaring so loud it was hurting my ears.

Just because everyone can have kids doesn't mean they should be allowed to IMO.

No smokinhg here in Wales and I must say it is nice to be able to go to the pub and not have to leave stinking like a dirty old ashtray.

Yup, always going on. The trouble is the people who do it will quite happily admit they didn't want kids and "it" was a mistake.

The above is true, I drink in the local Iwan mentions.

Can't get a baby-sitter. Don't go to the pub.

I despise "family pubs". All pubs should be for over 18s only.
My local has a new extension and now caters for families. Kids are everywhere crawling on the carpet, running around screaming etc. I saw one young child go around the bar serving area once.
Don't go there much any more.

Wonder what effect the nicotine and alchohol had on the poor child while she was carrying it!
