I have to go to Northampton on Sunday to pick up some speakers I bought on EBay. The guy has sent me directions drom the M1 but I'll be coming down the A45 from the A14/Suffolk direction.

Would anyone fromt he horads (it seems) of Northampton peeps be able to give me idiot proof directions to....

Inlaws live in Northampton but I dont have a clue how to get around it I just go where they point!

I've stuck the address into streetmap etc but Was hoping for some local knowledge of the best way as it seems I need to cut across the top of Northampton when all the roads go in and out of the centre

Its easy from the A14. The junctions before the M6 (i think) will put on the correct road, just keep driving until you see the pub on your left! As you sstart coming in to town

Ahh, that junction would be the A5199 (use to be A50).

Normally for Northampton etc I would come off the A14 and go down the A45 past wellingborough etc. But I should stay on and come down the A508(?) which then becomes Harborough road (not the A5199 ?)

Any pre-pub landmarks I can keep an eye out for as a warning ?

If its the A508 then it the junction after the A6(Rothwell), theres 2 A6 junctions pretty far apart from each other. I don't know where that pub is but the A508 heading towards Northampton from the A14 will go through Lamport first.
